Kathleen Turner Overdrive

Local Sounds Radio is stoked to bring you the latest powerful single from the Darling Downs' own KTO. Kathleen Turner Overdrive. Their brand new track, "Love at the End of the Line," has just landed on our playlist.
Hear it everyday in May on Local Sounds Brisbane and Local Sounds Darling Downs

This poignant tune is the third single from their upcoming album ‘A Safe Space for Cryptids’ (dropping August 15th) and takes a different turn from their previous releases. "Love at the End of the Line" delves into a compelling narrative, continuing the story from their 2022 song ‘Corpse Tree' about finding family through DNA technology.

This time, KTO tells the very real story of a young mother's courageous journey in 1940s Brisbane as she buys a one-way train ticket to escape domestic violence, crime, infidelity, and coercive control. It's a tale of resilience, a new beginning 800 km away in the heart of outback Australia – the story of Cunnamulla and finding life and love at the end of the line.

Kathleen Turner Overdrive, a femme-fronted four-piece melodic punk band with members across Toowoomba and Springfield, deliver this powerful story with their signature blend of punk energy and melodic sensibility, drawing influences from bands like The Clash and Blondie. Described as ‘relevant and tribal,’ KTO continues to create music that resonates.
